The flagship Parachute Mattress is a foam-free hybrid mattress that was crafted to be supportive, comfortable and eco-friendly. In contrast to most hybrids, this mattress is constructed with pocketed coil layers and New Zealand wool, as opposed to foam or latex.

The coil support core is arranged in different thicknesses for optimal pressure point relief and spinal alignment. So it’s constructed to be firmer in the middle and softer at the head and feet.

Parachute worked with a fourth-generation mattress manufacturer to create a first of its kind mattress that was made with the planet and your sleep in mind.

How is The Mattress constructed?

Cover: The Mattress cover is quilted and made from 100% organic cotton for softness and breathability.

Comfort Layer: Right after the cover is a wool comfort layer made from two sheets of pure New Zealand wool which gives the mattress a unique feeling unlike most hybrid models. The wool does a good job at providing noticeable cushioning but doesn’t conform to the body like memory foam or latex. It also helps to regulate your body temperature.

Transitional Layers: Beneath the wool comfort layer is three tiers of tiny steel microcoils that react individually to pressure. This is what provides added support and even weight distribution across the mattress. Next is a layer of flame-resistant, hypoallergenic wool to protect the microcoils from the pocketed coils in the support layer.

Support Layer: The Mattress has a support layer of pocketed steel coils that are zoned for proper spinal alignment. This means that firmer coils in the center of the mattress, providing more neutral alignment for the spine, then offset by softer zones offering additional comfort for the legs, shoulders, and head.

Stronger coils are also placed around the perimeter to minimize sinkage and reinforce the edges for when you get in and out of the bed.

Foundation Layer: Then finally, the bottom wool insulator pad is made from flame-resistant, hypoallergenic wool to protect the layer of pocketed coils above.
